Ladbrokes Customer details up for sale
Several UK newspapers broke the story today that the details of millions of Ladbrokes customers were offered for sale by someone who used to work for the company. This is credit card and personal details and although it’s not yet known whether these are just telephone and online gamblers or casino players too it’s very concerning that Ladbrokes customer details are up for sale to any online casino player who may have an account with them.
Details are yet to emerge it would seem but one ex employee of Ladbrokes has allegedly offered the confidential records of millions of UK bankers for sale to the Sunday Mail newspaper.
The Sunday Mail team has contacted Ladbrokes, including their online casino branch to let them know of the security breech and have now started contacting customers about any action they need to take.
Thankfully this sort of occurrence is very rare and as all online casinos keep personal details on encrypted servers, very few staff have access to these details. In all the years that we at Best Casinos have been writing about and bringing you casino news we have never heard of a case like this.
