UIGEA Supporter to quit in 2012
When Obama came into power, people were quick to point out that his own wife was a bingo fan, and US online gambling fans soon hoped that this would mean an end to the UIGEA ruling. However, that wasn’t to be, but now one of UIGEA’s supporters is to quit in 2012, leaving US casino fans wondering if this will be an end to the ban on online casinos.
John Kyl was one of the most vocal supporters of the UIGEA ruling, banning online casinos from around the world trading in the US and despite many appeals and protestations from supporters of online casinos, the outlook has looked bleak. It seems that while John Kyl is in power, the world’s best casinos won’t be bothering the US shores.
However, this week John Kyl has announced that in 2012, he will no longer seek re-election and it’s this that online casino operators have already jumped on. With no John Kyl it’s hoped by many online casinos such as 32Red Casino (review) among others will finally be able to break the big US market. The country certainly isn’t short of players with online bingo and online casino play considered pretty much a fun past time until this bill took away the ability for casinos to trade in the US.
Online casinos players from the US mean good news for everyone, the more players, the more money, bigger jackpots and of course better promotions for everyone, which is one reason that the standing down of John Kyl should be good news for all of us.
